I've been taking a lot of shots of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels lately. I belong to a D.C. area Meetup Group. It's pretty cool. The organizer sets up events like Pool Parties, tours, wine tastings, parades and more. The dogs and I get to meet a lot of nice people and awesome Cavaliers. I enjoy taking shots of the dogs because it's a bit of a challenge. Dogs don't sit still for you the way people do. It's click or die. I take hundreds of shots just to get a few really good ones. Though usually I like most of them!

My husband promised to buy me my first DSLR. Finally! He's getting a bonus at work and that bonus goes toward my camera! I'm having a hard time deciding between the Nikon D90 (consumer grade, familiar) and the Fuji Finepix S5 pro (semi-professional, not so familiar, but highly recommended). What are your thoughts?

I hope to get back into a study once I get my DSLR. People, candid, portraits, landscapes. Who knows.
